State wants to hear your experiences with behavioral health access

10/15/2015

State Sen. Sara Gelser, D-Corvallis, and Oregon Health Authority Director Lynne Saxton are traveling the state to hear from adolescents, adults and families who have had difficulties accessing mental health and substance abuse treatment in Oregon.

A town hall will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4 at the Loft at the Red Building, 20 Basin St., Suite F, in Astoria. Dinner will be provided.

On Sept. 23, Oregon Health Authority hosted the first of six statewide town hall meetings for individuals and families to talk about their experiences with the behavioral health system. The listening tour is designed to help the state find ways to better serve people.

These meetings are for individuals and families who have used or tried to use Oregon’s behavioral health services. Advocates, providers, educators, first responders and other community members are encouraged to attend as listeners.
